The car name for this class is “Nikola”

ในปีนี้ วิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสยาม ได้ส่งรุ่น Cruiser ซึ่งเป็นการสร้างยานพาหนะต้นแบบในการใช้สำหรับชีวิตประจำวัน โดยการขับเคลื่อนจะใช้แค่พลังงานแสงอาทิตย์เท่านั้น โดยยานพาหนะรุ่นนี้ จะแข่งขันกันด้วย การประหยัดพลังงาน การใช้พลังงานที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด การออกแบบทั้งภายในและภายนอก และประโยชน์ในการใช้งานของยานพาหนะ โดยรุ่นนี้ ทางทีมได้ตั้งชื่อว่า Nikola  เหตุผลที่เลือกชื่อนี้ เพราะ นิโคลา เทสลา เป็นนักสุดยอดประดิษฐ์ที่ได้การยอมรับให้เป็นบิดาแห่งไฟฟ้ากระแสสลับ เขาได้คิดค้นมอเตอร์ไฟฟ้าเหนี่ยวนำ วางรากฐานของการส่งจ่ายไฟฟ้าในปัจจุบัน และหลักการต่างๆที่เกิดจากผลงานของเขาได้วางรากฐานสำหรับเทคโนโลยีไฟฟ้าสมัยใหม่ เช่น การสื่อสารไร้สาย

For this year, it’s the first time for Siam Technology College to attend World Solar Challenge 2017 with Cruiser class which can be used as the prototype of the car. The car name for this class is “Nikola”. The reason is that Nikola Tesla is the ultimate inventor who was accepted to be the father of alternating current. He invented electric motor which is the main component to supply electricity in our homes. Moreover, his invention becomes the principles of electrical technology like wireless technologies.
